My 1998 Synergie has the twin sunroof, the big rear one opens electrically.
It opens as it should, if lazily, but closes very slowly and stops part way (not the third way point) I guess as the anti-pinch overload kicks in. It is possible to close it by pressing the button and helping it by pulling the leading edge or by pushing up, reducuing the drag on the seals.
The Synergie doesn't have the useful manual crank handle that the BX has in case of motor failure - Citroen must have trusted their motors more in 1998!
I have temporarily improved things from time to time by using silicone spray lubricant on the rubber seals, but the effect is short lived. Has anyone else had the same symptoms, and if so what works?

Re: Synergie sunroof
The best solution: close it, take the fuse out and never open it again. Sun roofs are more trouble than they're worth!
