Indeed, always read the reviews and stop to check the app's requirement, for instance, why would a legitimate version of Andy Birds need the ability to send text messages? At least Android tells you what permissions are being given unlike some other mobile phones, and should something manage to get through Google have the ability to remotely uninstall the app, so even if you don't know about it you get protected.

i have the Samsung galaxy S2 now and its definatly a mine field with all the stuff on it,
i have got AVG installed,
i only go onlie via WIFI from my home ISP, i try not to use the internet via my phone provider net work,

my son says its best to only get APPS throught the ANDROID MARKET PLACE web site,

in the few months i have had this phone i have only dowloaded two APPS both were free versions,

i never use internet banking via my phone or WIFI either,

I dont get the smart phone thing, the internet or email just arent important enough to need to carry it arround all day in my pocket on a phone that costs a weeks wages, i have a phone at home and internet, i will be sticking with my £40 cocoon so if i need something i can pick it up and PHONE somebody

They have their uses Dean obviously its horses for courses, I'd feel lost without my iFone especially in instances like today when I was in Costco's as it has a free app called Red Laser on which you take a photo of the bar code of a product and it then scans the net to tell you the current market price of the item, it's saved me quite a few quid. Its also got full satnav, all my appointments in that set off reminders, the list goes on and on.

Mind you, mine being a Windows Mango most will insist that I still don't have a smart 'phone....

you lot are suckers for a bit of well planned marketing, thats the idea of modern electrical goods, get you hooked with the gimmicks and you keep coming back money in hand every year when they make a new one.

I will be sticking with my abacus thank you very much
