Xantia:- Buttons on the dash

Unread post by alastair70 »

My Xantia didn't come with a owners handbook and i can't find out what a couple of the buttons do. First is the button to the right hand side of the steering wheel that looks like a speaker with 2 lines through it? Second is the button with a snowflake on it next to the rear heated window button in the middle of the dash.

Cheers

Alastair, first is the internal ultra sonic alarm detector disable.. i.e. if you want to lock and alarm the car, but leave the kids, dog in..
I think it disables those movement sensors only

second should be air con ;)

The one by the steering wheel disables the cabin alarm sensors
The snowflake is aircon. It needs enough gas in the system to activate.

The first is the ultrasonics over-ride button. Push it until the alarm LED glows solid after the ignition is off and then when you set the alarm on the plip the alarm will be set with the ultrasonic movement sensors deactivated. Also, this button acts as an alarm reset. Typically then reconnecting the battery the alarm will set. The alarm may be reset by holding down this button whilst turning on the ignition.

The snowflake button is your aircon switch. Push it in until it illuminates and your aircon compressor should engage...
