Hi everyone, I'me new to the forum so I may get the posting wrong if so apologies.
My Mark 1 xantia blower started to play up, cutting out and then restarting intermitently. It now doesnt work at all.
I've had the blower out and it works when connected direct to battery.
I thought it could be the ignition switch issue I've read about as the rear demister also doesnt work, but I tested and there is 12v coming in to the blower fuse when the ignition is on and running
I have also tried bumping it so that the key isnt used and the switch not affected but no joy there
I've also tested the voltage on the 4 plug connecter that goes in to the blower - this reads 3v when the heater controls are set to max and the engine is running, I wonder whether this could be the issue?
Any ideas and suggestions please gratefully accepted
Cheers
Paul

Re: Mark 1 Xantia with A/c Blower not working
Hi Paul, and welcome to the Xantia’s blower.
The ignition switch is faulty because the rear demister doesn’t work.
The fuse has normal voltage because it's before the switch .
If it’s the thick red wire on the blower plug that’s got 3 volts, then it’s again the switch that’s faulty.
There’s a modification with a relay to take the blower current off the ignition switch.
