hi all iv done something stupid and could do with some advice,on sunday i changed the drivers side wishbone bush ( the big metal back one ) i dis-connected the link rod from the anti roll bar and in order to get bush out i had to jack up the anti roll bar ( not thinking about it being attached to the height corrector )!!
when i finished the job and tried the car out the front suspenion would rise with added weight (as it should ) but will not s put ink when weight is took off.
the onlly way to get it to sink is to put in low then back to drive height . we tried fiddling with the two collars on the roll bar but could not get it work !!
the haynes manuall's only advice is take to a dealer ! ( what a suprise! ) is this easy to sort out or have i broken the height corrector ? having being a xantia owner for 11 years i have never had a front height corrector fault ( back yes several times ) cheers guys

Re: iv been a dunce !!
Im checking forum on information on height correctors but the pictures look different to my front one, mine is a white plastic box not a metal one, could someone tell me what system have i got ? mine has a sports button inside the cab which seems to make a little difference (not a lot) cheers

NEVER GET UNDER A HYDRAULIC CITROEN WITHOUT IT BEING PROPERLY SUPPORTED, THEY CAN KILL
firstly you should not have adjusted the hight clamps on the anti roll bar/s if it was all at the corect hight/level before you did anything,
do you know if the white doggy bone link between the H/C and anti roll bar has poped off at one end,

I think, in jacking up the roll bar you bent the height corrector link rod extension piece; the bit that is attached to the collar and terminates in a ball...
When I've done bushes I've never found the need to jack the anti roll bar, just holding by hand it out of the way has been enough...
Just bought a couple for my HDi - one's so bad there's hardly any rubber left!

Yep, did the same thing myself when I disconnected the rear anti roll bay on an XM, you will have to slacken the bolt in the anti roll bar clamp and readjust it. I hope its not as rusty as mine was

If everything is still conected follow the metal rod linkage to the clamp on the anti roll bar, slacken the clamp bolt and rotate the clamp around the bar a little at a time until you get the suspension at the right height. The only safe way to do this is on a ramp because the height will change very rapidly.

I paid a specialist $180 in labour to cock this up for me, so at least the OP has started out saving money...
Make a good (neat) mark where you start the correction from. With the car running and set to normal height, I barely slackened the clamp and carefully drifted it around wth a small hammer and a drift on the clamp bolt. After every adjustment nip the bolt up and I suggest going low-high-low-normal. When you're darned close, take it for a test blat and then re-check.
What gets me is how easy it'd have been to put a turnbuckle type adjuster in there for fine tuning...

i think its to late for the need of a mark/indicator as to were the clamp started, as spliffy says they have already tried adjusting the clamps,
