Unread post by KennyW »

Hi All,

I have a problem with the Tailgate locking mechanism.

It is NOT locking with the remote The actuator is responding but the lever is not moving far enough to open or close on remote.

How has other members resolved this issue :?:

Hi Guys,

It would appear the actuator is on its way out and is causing the problems.

As anyone gone inside one :!: and had a look :?:

Is there anywhere else which sells these as services citroen are quoting £90 for one  :?:

Check out Maplin item YD79. It may not look the same, but was a straight substitute in my Xantia Estate. If you think you will need several, there is a kit with 4 (the 5 wire items are just the same as 2 wire, with a control changeover switch incorporated).

Make sure that you lubricate the mechanism and the lock with white grease or equivalent so that the new actuator stands half a chance.

Thanks Old Guy,

Fitted today in the pouring rain in the village!!!!!!!!!!! and it is working fine, still to fit all the covers etc will grease up tomorrow.

Worth keeping Maplin electronics in the Useful sites part of the forum.

At £8 if you have a shop nearby or £10 by post is certainly cheaper than the stealers @£90.

The part no is YD76 as throter said it is straight swap 8-)
