My old BXagon team mate, Phil Boxall and I acquired a BX19TGD which we will be using on the Challenge as it represents just about the cheapest option possible!
If it behaves and responds well to treatment it will be rewarded with a nice livery (and bunch of accessories/equipment)... It's also having exhaust, induction mods and it's going to be losing quite a few kgs...
(I know it's a Mk.1 hybrid in the visual - but it's only intended to give the idea)...
Hi, most impressive will be the weight-saving (it'll be a configured as a two-seater and other mods will help), power-boosting (induction and exhaust and fuelling, so modest admittedly!) and increased control the mods will bring; we are fitting a twin-fan set up with manual override switch, temp gauge, lights on (dim/dip/spots/fogs) LED warning panel, separate spot and foglight switches and full-current headlight wiring harness. There will be a CB rig wired-in and 185 profile tyres on 'holed' steels. We also hope to fabricate the equivalent of a sump guard for the pipes/FDV at the front of the engine. And, with the wind behind us and a good dose of Cetane booster, we might keep up with modern traffic on the straight bits too
