Leaking Doseur valve?
Is that what it looks like?
If so.....
What's the best way to go about sorting that, a refurbished unit? It looks very crammed in by turbo piping and AC pipes. Cack!
no need to swap the dosure valve just fit these two parts,
Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
5424455 CNTRL-UNIT RING 4.82 GBP 5.78 GBP 5.78 GBP
95640067 BRAKE PROTECTOR 7.99 GBP 9.59 GBP 9.59 GBP
it will be the rubber protector/cap that has split, then the retaining ring sometimes gets damaged on removal,
you can get at it by removeing any turbo ductting at the back of the timming belt covers,
then undo the two dosure valve retaining nuts up behind the brake pedel,
now gently pull the valve away from the bulkhead and again gently rotate it till you can get at the rubber cap and retaining ring,
prise the ring out then the rubber cap, the rest is a reverse of the above,

The really hard part will be getting the LHM out of the carpet foam to stop it turning into more black stinky stuff.

A french product called carolyn, or savon de marseille is magic in this department, i used it the other day to soak a piece of fabric accidently dropped in engine oil!
To good effect too.
Only problem is you can only get it in france....

Im already stocked up for this year. It is the only substance i have found that can disolve sticky vegetable oil in one spray.
Tis truly magic.
We no longer bring back booze, we stock up on carolyn- far more usefull!

So that is definitely the colour of an LHM stained carpet? My girlfriend seems to think it's not 'LHM green'.
The AC pipes seem to make things harder than they need to, is there anything else in the doseur valve that gets damaged? Ie is there any point in fitting a refurbed one while I'm there, or just repair the damaged end seal?
And how much is that carolyn cleaning spray??
Thanks chaps!

me thinks it will require a little more than carolyn cleaning spray initialy,
you will need to remove/lift the carpet to suck/soak the pool of citro blood up that will be under it ,
as i think this carolyn cleaning spray will only deal with the stain,
also to do the rubber protector cap you dont need to disconect any pipe if your very carefull when rotating the dosure,

I found Carolyn in Carrefour, there seem to be about 6 different "flavours" for cleaning different rooms of the house. There was one with an "old fashioned" label saying Savon de Marseille, all of these were fairly thick liquids in 1L and 2L plastic bottles, not spray bottles. The pricing is 2 to 3 euros per litre, depending of flavour.
There is also a 1 litre pack with a spray nozzle and garden hose fitting, presumably for cleaning paths, this is 10 euros.
Does anyone want some (I could drop them off at Jims).

Finally decided today was the day to order the parts from Citroen, partly because it's the first week day off I've had in ages, but mostly because the throttle got stuck partly open and I assumed it was LHM getting onto the pedal that caused it to stick. I got home and cleaned up the LHM/grease that was on the throttle pivot bit and regreased it etc. No change.
As it happens the throttle cable is frayed at the pump end and once I realised this, testing on the drive with the engine off meant that if I floored it, the throttle arm got stuck wide open - bugger! So I nipped to GSF using my mums car and got a replacement cable which looks like a right pain in the neck, it's a universal thing so I need to get cracking on that, just waiting for my dad to get back from work to see if two of us can fathom it out.
The doseur seal that was mentioned earlier in the thread is the knackered one though, when looking up at the doseur from inside, it looks very very wet, and you can see LHM flow out of it, double doh! Even worse, I'm working ten days straight from wednesday, so if the parts arent here tomorrow and fitted I'll be knackered, triple doh!

I see a distinct likeness of Andre Citroen in there...lexi wrote: Flippin heck mate. Your town is about to be turned into a tourist attraction.........................That's the Turin Shroud you got lookin atcha there!!
