Synergie starting problems

Jumped in to recently purchased Synergie HDI tonight and turned the key- engine turns over fine,fuel in tank -no go!! If I leave it for 10mins and try again it does seem to fire once but then nothing- any ideas ,Cheers

Can you hear the in tank fuel pump run whan you turn the ignition on?

Sounds like you may have an air leak in the fuel system, probably quite a bad one, so when the engine is stopped all the fuel drains back to the tank.

First check the excess fuel return hoses on top of the injectors. These perish quite quickly. Pay particular attention to the rubber terminator on the last injector at the right hand end. I've never had one of these last longer than 6 months without perishing. Pump the fuel priming bulb, is it soft when you squeeze it? If it is, keep pumping it until it goes hard. Have a look in the bit of clear plastic pipe going into the injection pump, are there any air bubbles?
