You're a braver man than me then. C5 electronics are best left well alone.

I suppose its all a simple matter of software on the C5. I know of some datalogging gear that is designed to plug into the CAN bus on trucks as a 'listen-only' device, so theoretically it should be possible to create a console screen program to tell you anything.
I can't tell you how to reprogram your C5, but I imagine its going to require some sort of eeprom programmer similar to that used by people who reprogram ignition ECUs etc.
It might be easier to rig up something on a laptop and play with that instead, otherwise where do you start? Hack into Citroen's mainframe and download the code... [}:)] [;)]

Aren't these consoles based on Windows CE ?
If so, you could try a search on google for ways of 'breaking in'.

which type of screen do you have ? 'B' level (suspension height info,date/time,radio info) or is it the full coulor 'C' level one ? what info do you want out of it ? the ability to get the info is there because it is what the diagnostic computers use,the adapter cable you have will let you get the info onto a p.c. or laptop by plugging it into the EOBD socket.how do you intend to get this info onto the screen on the dashboard ? you cant just wire it into the screen, this cable & software are decoding CAN signals, the screen works on the VAN network (the signals are completely different),any info that the screen gets from the CAN has to go through the BSI.let us know how you get on.
