this was a common prob on BX's if i had the wheel/s off any BX i used to give the eye a slight modify with a hammer, moveing the eye tighter towards the front face of the leg and in towards the inner wing, if you know what i mean

Is it the right cable? One side is common to all Xantias but the other side comes in two lengths, the longer being for 110 HDi, Activa and 3.0. I can't remember which side is which though.

May be a daft question, but the handbrake cable is going through the loop isn't it?

Hand brake touching tyre

Hi all I hope these pictures work, Yes cable does go through the hoop. please note I have put some heat shrink on to protect the cable in the short term

Link http://s1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa465/Jimmydod/

There are a couple of views not terribly clear though. I feel that this cable is too long went back to factor and he assures me it is the correct one ie for Xantia 2.0HDI 90hp.
Dont feeel twisting trhe loop on hub will help it will just kink the cable.

i think you're right in the cable being too long, it is def about 2-3inches too long. I'm wondering if either the motor factor has given you the wrong side and also heard "HDI" and presumed its the 110 version which has the longer cable (but not on that side)

i presume the cable is nice and snug elsewhere and that although it touches the tyre works ok? (not saying its ok to leave as is just making sure its seated properly)

Hand brake cable touching tyre

Hi all
Have been on internet and spoken to a very helpfull man from AEP their r/h xantia CABLE IS 1333MM LONG ALSO COMPANY i BOUGHT ORIGIONAL ONE OFF IS 1335MM long. He (man from AEP cross referenced genuinc Citroen part number and that he said was 1333mm long. Could it be the alloy wheels somehow is wider that origional steel wheels, these I believe were off a Citroen Xantia but a more sporty variety, howeveer they have the same tyre size as my steel origional. Am now getting desperate as mot is imminent.

Regards to all

Zip tie it back.

So long as it's not fouling against the wheel, it shouldn't be a fail.
