The front windows have an intermittent electrical fault. O/S window drops down ok but the closing goes in short bursts. Pressing the control button sends it up again for a few more cm's and so on until it finally closes.
The n/s window is usually fine but there was no response when operated from the o/s door button. Drivers side button did close it in one go.
So - where do I start? Is this something easy to fix or one for the local elec specialist?
I read elsewhere that high mileage cars have an earthing problem (corrosion?) - mine is definitely in that bracket.
Hope it can be fixed simply - any suggestions greatefully received!
Nigel
PS just returned from a holiday in Herefordshire. Xantias everywhere - even had an unofficial convoy with two V Reg Silver Estates through Peterchurch.

mine does this, if i'm driving along and i open the window it'll be fine no matter how many times its used. the problem is actually when i open the door, its as though opening the door makes the anti-pinch system 'forget' its settings so it has to go back up in short bursts (as after a battery disconnect) my theory is a dodgy wire in the door shut that makes contact most of the time.
