Later C15;s - Couple of quick questions

Post by spider »

Anyone here got a late (as in say 2000 onwards) C15 van ? :)

I thought they'd have the DW8 after PSA stopped using the XUD (shame :( ) , but someone said to me the other day they carried on using them in the C15 :?: , the only thought I had about that was to reduce stock maybe, then again they stopped them mainly due to emissions.

I'm waffling a bit  , anyone know for sure ? and when did they stop making them too ?
Andy.

There's quite a few people on the Visa Forum that are well into their C15s and have good knowledge.

I'll copy your question across to there...

Here's a 2004 C15, and that doesn't look like an XUD in the engine bay to me...

I assume the reason it replaced the XUD is something to due with emissions regs. :?: The DW8 soldiered on until 2007 according to Wikipedia

Thanks :) , yes that's a DW8 alright. I've seen that rust patch on their bonnets before, strange how they do that and a bit disturbing too. Oh well.

I've had a couple of C15's and thoroughly enjoyed them apart from the way they rust away, look carefully into the heater inlet vent and at the seam running across the bulkhead as that's a prime spot which leads to leaks into the footwells, the floor where it joins the rear arches, the rear door bottoms, and the front panel above the drivers cab, not forgetting the rear arm bearings which are a pig to change. Knocking at the front will quite likely be the lower arm bushes which need regular replacement. Oh and keep an eye on the front door hinge pins as they fall out at regular intervals causing the door to drop

That sounds partly like a 205 NA model with regard to its front end bushes. :D

I think they use the same arms.
