Fault somewhere on the latest V6 Alarm. The alarm goes off about twice in 24hr period for about 20secs then stops. All door functions and door light work fine as does boot light.
Any ideas?

The usual cause is the ultrasonics, another place to look is the boot lock as I think even on an SX which doesn't have Hydractive there is a little micro-switch that can be displaced or the lock povit shaft mount on the lock wears which stops the micro-switch operating. In the the worst case scenario the alarm can be turned off using a ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Lexia

I'd hazzard a guess that the boot sensors not being pushed in enough due to worn boot catch, mine does it as the section on the rotating catch has worn down and doesn't push the microswitchy button in enough! On the rare time it does lock without chirping at me in inveriably goes off!! Normally about 2am!

Things to try then. Can the boot catch be removed and then weld more meat onto it and dress nice then refit ?
