zx gearbox noise

Hi, my 1995 zx diesel, when I accelerate through the gears I get a loud whurring noise, could this be low gearbox oil? It only happens in 1 and 3 gear. anybody got any ideas, cheers Terry.

I'd check the oil as soon as possible as a first step for a noise regardless.

these gear box's have a nasty habit of trowing there toys out of the pram, usualy through the diff houseing
