that 96 No. looks like an older PSA part No., but when i enterd it into a search on service citroen it came back as no part found ,

Hi Mike,

I have a five page Citroen document scan (in .jpg format) covering the information I think you require on Xantia spheres. Note that the document states that the numbers marked on spheres are not the same as replacement part numbers.
I will send a copy to you on receipt of your email address if you wish.
