C5 heating problem

Post by SaabC5 »

Ok folks, thought i'd test the heating out on my C5 prior to the winter coming. Put the heating up to 27 and lovely hot air came out...great methinks until i put it back to the 19 i normally run! Hot air still coming out the left central and passenger vent! :mecker: I'm thinking a stuck hot/cold air distribution flap. I know my Saabs but am a virgin with my C5 so where am i looking for this fault and specifically which motor is it? (i know there's gonna be at least 3 down there with my climate system) Any advice gratefully received,

Andy

Thanks for that info Clogzz it was spot on. :notworthy: glove box opened up and blend motor taken out. Sure enough the motor turns but doesn't engage with the flap, new motor with longer gearing ordered. :D

Grrrr, they've provided me with a new motor with a brass cog as opposed to the longer plastic shaft, back it goes for the correct motor. I've had to give them a photo of the revised part now! :hb:

Motor is motor, too much trouble looking up part numbers.
They’re still used to their picture books. Image

Hi can you confirm that the new part with the longer spline is 6447 TK and not 6477 TK, as both are mentioned in the below topic.

Thanks, I don't suppose you remember which part number is correct from above?

Cheers.

I've just read this post and see that I'd done a typo on the part number in the previous post quoted here.

I've been back to the old post and corrected the number.
Cheers, Kev

Hello guys, I have the same problem one side is hot and the other is cold when the temp is set to 16,

I have a C5 2003 when driver is in the left side, so the glove box is on the pasenger side in the right (the hot side),
is the climate motor is on the driver side ?

The motor is still in the same place at left, on the near or port side.
Replacing the motor on a left-hand-drive car is very difficult.
