'99 Xantia 2.0Hdi Turbo hose
Anyone know where I can source a new turbo outlet hose for my '99 Xantia 2.0 Hdi other than through the main stealer (£121.00 + vat)? The one that runs behind the rad to the inter-cooler has a patched up 3 inch split in it which works for now. Tried a few places with no luck. Thought it was going to be pricey but that seems a bit on the scary side to me.
Thanks for looking
Thanks for looking
do you mean the one that goes from the intercooler to the inlet manifold?
if so i gave in and bought a new one from citroen last year, was easier than getting a second hand one that could split in 3 weeks time leaving you in the same position you're in now.

yeah thats the boost pipe FROM the intercooler into the inlet.
the piping runs from the turbo under the engine inbetween the gearbox and sump and then up by the hydractive block and into the intercooler then from the other side into the inlet

for some help
(car in limp mode and no turbo)
Today a Lexia from a friend revealed the following:
Permanent Fault
Turbo Charger pressure solenoid valve measured inlet pressure too low.
So looking around the forums this like a good place to start?
From your comment above there are two pieces of pipe?
One from turbo outlet to inter cooler and then one from inter-cooler to inlet manifold?
Which is the most likely to have gone?
Is the split usually in a common section?
I guess it is worth changing both or is one or the other a rare section to fail?
Thank you in advance

There's three Sprout. The two big rubber ones being spoken of here and a third one about two inches long that is attached to the turbo outlet stub and connects to the plastic pipe that runs across the bottom of the engine.
I had exactly your problem and it was this little hose that was split. A new one is not expensive from a dealer. Any split in a hose will be obvious as it'll be oily around the split.
One of my big hoses on Rattiva has a small split but until I can get to replace the pipe it's holding up a treat with a patch made of fabric duct/gaffer/duck tape...
Don't worry about oil in the hoses. It is normal as the crankcase breather vents into the inlet tract.
If all hoses are good, suspect a holed intercooler... I take it you have a 110 HDi...

Yes it is a late 1999 110 HDi (136K miles)
Lets hope its the little hose (unless its the one that's a pig to change )
Certainly hope its not a holed intercooler, that sounds more expensive!
Will be looking tomorrow and will give an update
Thanks

That little hose is easy to change
You need to lay under the car to do it and that means it has to be firmly supported on axle stands. Don't ever rely on the suspension staying on high... Always support firmly..
Remember a hydraulic Citroen on high can collapse at any time and if you're underneath it won't be good...
Safety-first always!

What is the part number he needs? Is it compatible with a Series 1?
I have a spare oval to round. Bit cheaper than main dealer.

Hope to look a bit later this afternoon weather permitting.
I have tried to look up any images of the pipework runs without any joy.
Is there any scientific method to deduce which of the three pipes or intercooler may be leaking?
Or is it a case of removing all three hoses for inspection and if all OK then it will be the intercooler?
I have I got this correct?
Pipework runs:
From Turbo, under engine and up to Intercooler
Then intercooler back across and over the top to the inlet?
Where does the short length come into play?
What a long torturous root
Cheers
