Xantia Series 2 (2000) - fitting Blaupunkt radio/CD player

Post by madscientist »

Hi, I'm interested in replacing the factory fitted head unit (a CD/RDS radio with flap) in an HDi SX, which I believe is a Blaupunkt, with another non-Citroen Blaupunkt unit (with MP3 and Aux functions) - anyone with experience of doing this? Will I need an adapter cable fo the steering wheel controls or will any Blaupunkt unit plug directly into the existing cable?

Thanks

A Blaupunkt should have ISO connectors so it should plug straight in.

Sometimes you need to swap the permanent 12V and the switched 12V around on the loom.

For the steering controls, you obviously need a head unit which will take a remote input - not all do, so double check before you buy.

You then need a Citroen -> Blaupunkt interface cable for the remote. An Autoleads PC99-X09 with a PC99-BLA patch lead should do it.

Series TWO Xantias use Clarion! The ISO connection are a Standard type for Power and Speakers, however, you will need a conversion lead for the steering wheel controls...

Series ONE Xantias used Blaupunkt in SX, VSX and later Exclusive V6 cars only.

Using the above PC99-X09 you can connect any brand of head unit you want. You just use a different patch lead - PC99-BLA, PC99-SON, PC99-KEN, PC99-CLA, etc
