Xantia gearbox oil

Hi, just about to change (this weekend) my Xantia gearbox oil. A friend has just said , it"s really difficult to refill after you have drained it. He says, there is no room to fill it . Is this correct? cheer Terry.

He is correct.

Fill it through the reverse switch hole using a funnel. Much easier. Most bottles are marked on the side so you can still know how much you've put in.

Not difficult and best/easiest from breather plug which is a
plastic plug on top of gear box (17 or 19 mm I don't remember exactly) with a plastic cap.

Edit: and here's a pic

If you have manual box (like mine) then the gear box oil amount is 1.8 l.

froggy, today I was busy with the battery and also had the opportunity to check the breather plug size

It is a 17 mm plastic plug.

PS: I learned breather plug tip from FCF
