Has anyone spotted this before? Found it in EuroCarParts.

Priced it up on the web, £37.15 for one litre, £112.45 for 4.5 litres.

It might be a good idea to check its suitability before using, I read somewhere that Citroen have two types and the later type must not be used in the earlier system. G.

See this:

4.2. Fuel additive ECU
New ECU maps permitting adaptation to the different types of additive :
DPX42 additive
EOLYS 176 additive
4.3. EOLYS 176 additive
New composition :
Cerine : 6,5 % by mass
Catalytic converter : brown colour
Solvent product (combustible hydrocarbon)
Additive tank :
Identification : green ring on the clickfit cap
Filling the additive tank (partial) : refer to the procedure given in the mechanical file of the vehicle in question

URGENT : It is forbidden to mix the 2 additives .

Need to check but in so much I recall that price is not markedly different to the Genuine article from GSF and the like.

Thought as much to be honest. It sparked my interest in the store because it didn't have a price next to it!

When I heard of this truely brilliant piece of French engineering :x , I had a look at my DPF, and traced two pipes, which go to the bulkhead, and meet at an electronicaly controlled thing.

Where is the fluid resiviour they talk about?

And why oh why did they come up with a system like this, even Vauxhalls system works with no need to have expensive serviceable items replaced.

Sorry, rant over,

Mark

Bolted alogside the fuel tank. Some of these C5s don't have one though.

I agree. It wouldn't be so bad if it made the car qualify for lower car tax, but that is just based on CO2. I suppose it's helping the planet though.

I've recently become familier with the system on the wife's Peugeot 807 (same as a C8). Those 2 pipes you spotted are used by the differential pressure sensor (thing on the bulkhead) to check the difference in pressure of the exhaust before and after the filter. It uses this to determine how blocked the filter is and when to regenerate it.
The fluid in the tank near the diesel tank gets fed straight in to the diesel tank.

Thank you for this, sorry for the late reply, couldn't remember where I'd put my rant!

Had a look, and I assume that it is filled through that bung thing on the side?

Cheers
