Battery supplier?

Folks, I'm looking for a recommendation for supplier for a replacement battery for my Xantia (1.8 petrol). Online is ok if they do reasonably fast delivery.

I have not personally tried them but I will when necessary. They are the only firm I know that give the battery weight and that's the most important factor when comparing price. Go to the home page

I haven't used Tayna, but I had decided I was just about to get a Varta from them, then it turned out someone at work had kept a fairly new battery from his scrapped Golf and it was the right size.

I bought the 096 as recommended for my 2001 Xantia for £47.99 with a four year guarantee. cheapest listed at the time.

Unfortunaltely the courier turned it upside down in transit and a fair drop of the acid leaked out into the packaging, I reported it to the seller but topped it up and used it, the seller said that if it gave any trouble to contact them and they would supply a replacement.

The battery worked fine until mid March this year when it started to get a bit sluggish, I emailed the seller and they had a free replacement on my doorstep by mid morning the next day

Had to replace the 1.9's original battery in Nov 2009. Made the mistake of buying a cheapo from our normally reliable local factor. A few weeks out of warranty, it was starting to really struggle to start the car in the cold weather (too many short journeys didn't help). After getting caught with twice, bit the bullet and bought a Varta with a 4-year warranty. Instant starting first try even on the coldest mornings.

That was not exactly a long wait! Battery arrived about half ten this morning, superbly packaged and fully charged. Naturally, I have just discovered I need an extension bar for my socket set as I can't get in about the retaining clamp with the diddy wee bar I have!

Update: I got the new Enduroline 45Ah battery fitted in about ten minutes, since then there has been none of the reluctance to start or lost charge issues I was having previously. Suppose I should really put a sticker on the battery marked with the installation date, for future reference.

The XMs battery died last week. I had a look at Makro which looked to be around the £100 mark for a Exide. Costco had a big Bosch with 4 years warranty for £71.99 so I went with that.

i buy batterys from ECP as they always seem cheaper than most factors local to me, and they nusualy do two or three quality's,

+1 for Ecp , had two Bosch batteries one for the Zx and one for the Dispatch , great prices & guarantee

I usually just phone around the local motor factors when I need a battery. During the winter D&A in Glenrothes sold me a Yuasa for the C5 at about £70.

Before that the last battery I bought was a no-name effort in 2004 for a Renault 19 1,9D, that battery is still going strong in an HDi Xantia.
