How easily should the 'boot lid' on these hatchbacks lift?
Mine, after release, needs quite a lift to get it up - should it be very easy?
Car is quite low miles 66k but maybe it is age-related?

Peter,
I guess your S2 will not be any different to my S1, with regard to the boot lid (hatchback).
After unlocking, mine requires only moderate assistance until it's about half way up, when the telescopic units take over and lift it to top limit. I'd suggest if you're finding it's a bit heavy, then it's not right. Maybe one of the telescopic units has failed? One must be working or it wouldn't stay up.

Struts may be regassed; perhaps your local garage has a fellow on their books who operates a mobile gassing unit. We pay about $50-$60 a car here.
Otherwise, Oscaro (etc) sell new "vérin de coffre, compartiment à bagages" from the original makers. Should you pursue new items, be sure to get the ones for a boot spoiler car, if that is what you have.
