xantia mk2 front bumper removal
I have finally got my replacement bumper, which was removed by methords i would nt do to to get mine off, the big problem is getting at the midle 13mm bolts. how do you get at them ? as on a mk1 xantia you can pull the fog lights out, a mk2 xantia you cant !!!!!

You need to fold back the mudshields under the front wings to get at the bolts.
MK1s, being far superior, had removable bungs in the mudshields to get at these bolts.
There's no need to fully remove the midshields, just remove sufficient bolts to allow it to come away from the leading edge of the wing to give sufficient access.
The bolts on a MK2 are 10mm and not 13mm as on the MK1.
Then it's just the three 10mm bolts under the bumper skirt across the front crossmember. Go easy as these can be tight and shear...

Fog lights?? To get at Bolts??
Ive never had to remove foglights to get at any bolts on S1 or S2 Xantias...
They come off in situ with the bumper...

No, actually once the mudshield is peeled back it's easy to get at with a 10mm ratchet spanner. It sits well above the washer bottle and in the clear.imperial21 wrote: The bolts look very hard to acesess on the drivers side due to the washer bottle !
How long depends on how well corroded in place it is. Give it a good dousing in Plus Gas before starting...

Xantia mk2 front bumper removal
Dont forget to unplug the spot light wiring (passenger side sort of behind the spot light) before you try and walk off with the bumper assembly.
Also there is a vertical torque screw (T15?) on the very tip of the bumper each side, screwed into a plastic gromet in the wing. Not sure if this is the same as the MK1

If it can happen it will.

Good thinking I always (nearly) forget those...Estately wrote: Also there is a vertical torque screw (T15?) on the very tip of the bumper each side, screwed into a plastic gromet in the wing. Not sure if this is the same as the MK1
And if you have headlamp washers, disconnect the pipe at the quick release connector just above the washer bottle...
