with my HDi just nudging over 180k i'm interested to see what other people's mileages are and what problems they've had. Really only after 110 HDi's here. (would be interesting to compare lexia readouts as well)

So.... whether its in a C5 or a Xantia whats your mileage :)

The C5 2.0L HDI 110 I bought and am preparing to either keep or re-sell has 161.000 on the clock, my Xantia 2.0L HDI 110 has 168,000, both seem to be free from mechanical troubles, the Xantia I've been running for two years.

The C5 came because the trader who had bought it as part of a batch was frightened off because the suspension wouldnt rise, I've fixed that and it's now up and running, I'm going to change the oil and all the filters today then need to find a missing under n/s wing and under engine protector panels.

When I've finished it will be a choice of which one to keep and which to sell on. G.

Hi Chris,
My Xantia has done 225K, I've had her since new. I've had no problems wih the engine at all.. never failed once. Had a new low pressure pump about 3k ago. 2 exhausts & removed the cat last year. The usual drop links, wishbone bushes, trackrod ends and 2nd set of bottom ball joints. a siezed steering joint at about 120k and of course the speedo stepper motor is going for the 2nd time.
I'm still getting almost 60 mpg and over 900 miles to the tank... regardless of what the manual says its not 62lit.. its 74 brimmed and that was just about empty.
That's why I can't really justify getting a newer car .. no depreciation.. just servicing and running costs.
Sorry can't help you with Lexia readouts... hasn't been near one for the past 8 years.
My advice? Keep the Xantia!!
Cheers,
Chris

My hdi 110 exclusive is about to turn 180k

One of my customers C5 Hdi 110 is around 160k or so, may be higher.

Another customers HDi 110bhp is on 250k and sounds sweet as a nut, though oil does need topping up once between services, though my guess is more turbo seals rather then engine wear!

Head gaskets NOT touched on any either and no sign of needing to either!!

That is an impressive review of the 110 Xantia Chris (c.morewood), just shows with the right care they just keep going.

We have a 110 C5 SX with 132K miles, very low mileage in relation to other 110s on here. Though its never been any real trouble, its a very faithful and dependable car which is still in excellent condition, its worn its miles very well. I would not hesitate to buy another high mileage HDi 110, especially a C5 HDi as I do like those.

My Xantia HDi 110 is barely run in then at 117.5k! Had it nearly 4 years, and put over 70k on it. No engine trouble so far - it just goes! Still on the original clutch and crank pulley. Origianal main exhaust section too - although I did have to weld it back together last year  Dunno how anyone gets 60 MPG thought....nearly died of boredom keeping it down at around 2k rpm cruising, and still only got 50 :? Maybe I really should sort out those dragging rear brakes I have been meaning to do for the last 50k or so!

Agreed. Mine's on 185,000miles and no need to change the car, just consumables.
Mine's never seen a Lexia!

Had these seemingly common faults:
Fuel tank pump died (wouldn't whirr/pressurize),car stranded, around 170k
Hydraulic pull clutch exploded with a right bang around 177k iirc
Bottom crank pulley failed / rattled, around 180k
Just had bottom balljoints replaced..looked original.

Had a few issues with rust on mine. Underneath, behind the rear wheel, nearside rear quarter paint bubbled,I pressed it,went straight through..
Rear door shut cills rust,oh and both cills went at the front and back which I repaired.

Engine so far has,(touch wood), been fantastic. Pulls from below 1k,doesn't smoke,(although it did once when floored, seems ok now!),does over 50mpg I'm sure at around 70mph,
and seems to use no oil..everytime I've checked it it's used nowt,in 2 years!

1 core plug wept/was replaced around 175k.

Can't think of owt else, quite happy with mine at the min :)

The Customer Xantia TAXI isn't finsihed with yet, he reckons 300k EASY! So do I really.. theres still no rattles or taps from the top end.. Starts instantly too hot or cold.

Mines approaching 183K, engine fine, box fine.
It's had brake discs and pads, exhaust, drop links, hydraulic pump, crank pulley, starter motor overhaul, spheres and thats it apart from normal service items.

50 MPG fairly easily, one oil top up between services.

Drivers window has just developed a fault, feels disconnected from the regulator, still haven't had time to investigate that !

Used to have a C5 Hdi 110 that did 136k , and required a clutch and flywheel conversion , at the minute my 2006 old shape dispatch has done 106k so only just run in , drives spot on and would put a few cars to shame both in condition & performance , love it

My exclusive must be a bit low mileage by everyone else terms with just approaching 115k miles, I got the car last year a bit run down, I have changed water pump, timing belt, clutch, drop links, all the rear sphers serviced, some tyres, this year i did the heater matrix. Great car i love it last week i went to essex and back and i averaged about 62ish to the gallon i never believed they would do that, I admitt I drive for economy more than speed  .

I'd love to be able to get over 60mpg imperial.. but despit my best tries.. I'm only ever able to get 59.6 fairly regularly though.
Chris I forgot the bottom pulley at 160k,I have a fairly comprehensive list on an Excel spreadsheet if you'd lke a look.
Thanks citroenmad

An excellent response :)

They do seem to be hardy engines, don't worry i'm not thinking of selling.

I've got a failing crank pulley and at 181k she still pulls well though and no smoke and starts fine. I think on the last tank I got 56.5mpg which good as the AX was it couldnt ever get near that.

I'm still on the original clutch and from what i can tell original crank pulley as well.

I've got a full service history with mine and it was originally a dealer demonstrator.

This line will make Jim cringe, but I think the HDi is a better engine than the V6. I'm not detracting from the V6's good qualities more a statement as to how good these HDi engines are.

Next up, whats the highest mileage HDi 110 around :)
