CITROEN C5 REVERSE GEAR BUTTON KEEPS STICKING

Hi folks my c5 reverse gear button keeps sticking when i put it in reverse
i have to push the button back down when i am finished reversing
what can i do to solve it?
Seems to stick rather come back down itself

Our eldest C5 does this, im very grateful of the reversing bong on that car, saved me from flying through into the kitchen backwards the other week

I have tried spraying it with some lubricant spray but had no effect. I guess if you could get the knob off you could do something with it, file off the edge of the lift up neck so its a more loose fit perhaps. Though im not sure if the knob would even come off. I have not tired this, I have just about got into the habit of making sure the neck of the gear stick is down when I bring it out of reverse.

HI,, I have the same problem with mine and after it's in reverse and ' bong' I just put a little pressure on the lift up collar and it slides down when out of reverse,,, maybe a touch of silicon spray would ease the problem.
