Central locking ?? Synergie

Unread post by naffa »

Just wondered if anyone knows whether on a 1998 Synergie it is a negative trigger or positive trigger on the central locking?
I have a rcl kit to fit and need to know.

Thanks Nathan

hey up fella.buy yourself one of these and you cant go wrong.

id imagine it would be a poss trigger.im wanting to fit remote locking on mine so if i get mine fitted before you do i,ll let you know about the wiring. the way i tested for poliarity in my escort cabby was to take the door card off and latch the door lock over in the door then lock the car by the switch on the door inside while having that tester probe connected to a earth and tested each wire.when you lock the doors with the probe touching the wire it will light up either red for live momentarily or green for earth momentarialy. you also need to take note of the colour of the wire and if the probe lights up when you lock or unlock the door.let me know how you get on. 8-)

Its a handy tool alright.

Today I tried to wire in my rcl kit but sadly after using every configuration included in the electrical diagrams supplied with the rcl kit I couldn't get it to work.
However I help that some of the info I have gleaned will help someone at some time.
Firstly I took off the door card and determined that the lock/unlock wires were both purple, however there are 3 purple wires running from the locks.
Next it removed the dash below the drivers knees and the kick panel aswell.
If you open the door you will see that the wires from the door to the car run through a rubber sleeve. By removing the kick panel you can reach the wires inside the car instead of in the door.
There are a couple of earthing points behind the kick panel.
Also just below the steering column there are 2 permanent 12v lives going to the relays there (one of them is an indicator relay). They are a thick yellow and a thinner green at the relay nearest the centre console.
I cant return my rcl kit as I've had it some time so it loks like getting the locks changed instead.
