Xantia Suspension - Wheel Change

Unread post by gadgetgricey »

This is going to sound really weird, but can swapping the wheels over cause the car to ride more firmly????

Took the Exclusive wheels off the V6 that I'm selling and put them on my TD. Its not really harsh, but the car does not seem to absorb the bumps as well as it used to.

Have "pushed" down on the front suspension and it still moves, but just wondered if there was an easy way to check if the suspension is working correctly.

Thanks again.

are the tyres a lower profile, that might make a difference slighty to the ride quality

Are they the same size tyres or is the sidewall smaller on the ones you put on?

Tyre pressure, tyre make and sidewall depth will have a noticeable effect.

..all of the above and tyres can have different rubber compounds which can make them more or less flexible.
