Saxo 1.1 tappets

Hi going to try adjusting tappets on my newly aquired saxo desire slight noise have been given a haynes manual,is this procedure ok or have any members got any tips or info on doing this. thanks in advance

do it as per haynes, but remember the engine has to be stone COLD for the clearences to be set right. and DON'T rotate the engine on the camshaft, has to be the crank

it is possible with a spanner to rotate the crank down the end of the engine from under the bonnet,

or you can jack the O/S front wheel off the ground and put the car in second gear, and rotate that wheel to move the cam shaft round,

Well jacked car up, in gear took 2 go's to get right well chuffed loads quiter next jobs cambelt, coolant and pump change :D
