Unread post by dieseldoggy »

Hi my pumps leaking but not from shaft as when put finger there its clean. looks like from blanking plugs big one on front etc as been leaking onto alternator.

I've had a similar thing on both mine.

If you unscrew the blanking plugs, you'll find two seals which have gone rather hard. You can get replacement seals from the main dealer. Think they're about a quid each mind, but they are LHM proof.

only one seal per plug i belive, but there are two diferent siezed seals on any one pump, as there are two diferent sized plugs,

also just remove the plug/cap and be carefull not to disturbe the plundger inside/under the plug,

below is part No. and dimension's if your is a 6+2,

the first one being for the plug frontmost top of the pump,

HYD OIL O-RING
DIAM 19-TO 2,4
- PRESS PUMP 6+2 + NON-SINKING

4026 87
HYD OIL O-RING

- PRESS PUMP 6+2 + NON-SINKING

and price/part No. below

Damn! I knew what I meant :P

Interesting one that Malc, I'm sure I've used the same sized seals for the blanking plugs on mine.

The torx ones take the other size, both hex ones take the same size.
The torx ones rarely leak.
