does anyone know what size socket to use for the cv nut ta

You need a 35mm socket. The correct item is a deep socket.

Hi guys,,,

Stupid question ,,,,can you purchase an outer cv joint for C5 or do you have to get the complete driveshaft,,,,,,young chap in local factor's seems to think complete shaft only,,,,,,,any ideas?

im sure you can buy just the C/V joint but it might work out almost as much as a complete re/con shaft,

do a google search for GKN stockist's local to you,
