Then park and take out the V6............Wheeeeeeeee!!!
Makes you realise how good they are and why you keep one
I knew a Scotsman who I think did that.lexi wrote:![]()
Yonks ago a quite popular transplant into series landy was the essex v6 (ford) . It wasn't bad.
Series Landys are amazing............so bad to drive yet you actually get used to them.........then try to convince people how good they are.
Mad fun or what?
Mate got 150mph out of his 2.8i stretched and lowered Capri, was lovely.Kowalski wrote:It'd be doing pretty well if it managed 150 mph considering that the Capri was could only do 130 mph with the same engine...Xac wrote:Took the engine out and put it in an ex military airdrop landy. He either had an optimistic speedo or rather more power than the 160 bhp that the car came with as standard and probably longer gearing too.Xac wrote:Mate got 150mph out of his 2.8i stretched and lowered Capri, was lovely.Kowalski wrote:It'd be doing pretty well if it managed 150 mph considering that the Capri was could only do 130 mph with the same engine...Xac wrote:Took the engine out and put it in an ex military airdrop landy. I'd agree that its not all about power, but there is a minumum amount of power a car needs to reach a certain speed.Xac wrote:Yet a 90bhp diesel estate can manage 115mph but only 105mph with a HDi gearbox, and my 100bhp could do 120mph, while my 2.1TD struggled to get to 90mph
It's not all about power.
