Hi Des,

Welcome :D

Which one and at which end?

How is the water leak connected to the intercooler piping?

To remove the pipes from the intercooler itself, just undo the jubilee clips a good way and then gently tease the pipes off. They're oval in cross-section and sometimes stick quite firmly to the spigots. With the Jubilee clips loose than a good sideways wiggle and a gentle tug at the same time will normally see them off. be firm but gentle as the intercooler spigots are only plastic and can break if you're too ferocious.

Discobnnecting the other ends of them at the turbo is slightly more tedious... Luckily, there is rarely a need to.

Have you any photo's showing the leak Des?

There is no water in the intercooler circuit, just air and often a bit of oil.
I'm convinced that it is a radiator hose that you have identified as having sprung a leak.

If you squeeze it can you hear water squishing around?

The intercooler doesn't contain water, that's what's confusing us.

At the front of the engine, looking down you can see the radiator.
In front of that (between the radiator and the bumper) is the intercooler, and in front of that, if you have it, is the aircon heat exchanger.

The radiator is sort of "hugged" by the intercooler spiggots.
The pipe you're talking about under it, is it ribbed?
If so, that's the main wiring loom that runs along the front of the engine bay under the radiator.

So it sounds like the radiator needs replacing.

It has a photo of the rad in place too.

If the rad has gone, then the heater matrix may also be in a sorry state.
With the heater on, can you smell curry/cat pee?
