Series 2 Activa velour driver's seat question

Unread post by andmcit »

I've finally prised myself out of running my green s2 V6 as a daily car and
have been running my newly legal again blue s2 Activa having seen it sat
unused and on SORN pretty much all the time I've had it over about 1.5
years as I mustered enthusiasm to fix the very raspy exhaust manifold.
The one thing I'm having trouble with on this new car is the driver's seat.

It's nothing remotely like the s1 Activa and has different flatter side bolsters
and the adjust doesn't swing them in to grip your sides so well but pushes
padding into your spine - it's just totally hopeless compared to the s1's.
I'm having trouble in that I just can't seem to get comfortable driving it
and this NEVER normally affects me from one car to the next and bizarrely
it's not an issue I have with either of my other x2 Xant V6's.

How've you guys found the s2 Activa seats? Does anyone else notice a big
difference between the s1 and s2 Activa seats apart of course from the
different tartan patterns!?

It seems I'm going to have to look out for a set of s1 ones when godforbid
a Puggeriser wants to claw back some money to pay for their heinous act. :(

Worse still, I have a mint set of s2 Activa seats and doorcards that I bought
years ago believing they were just like the s1's but with side airbags. Now
I discover they aren't much cop for me when I fit them into a Xantia I have
plans for. Not a happy bunny.

That does seem strange Andrew, I wouldn't have thought they would have change so much from S1 to S2.

I do like the S1 Activa seats though.

I did find another adjustment the other day, but only on the passenger seat ... It tilts the whole chair up and backwards, so instead of the seat being flat your kind of sloped into it. Its actually really very comfortable to sit in, but there isnt the same movement on the drivers side. I suppose you can't really lay down and drive can you

I must admit Andrew, I fitted my S2 activa seats into my VSX and only after using the S1 seats did I find the S2 seats quite uncomfy, gf feels the same way too, Doh!
