Xantia.... Which Hydraulic Pump?
Hey Peeps... whilst in Helfrauds yesterday evening I attempted to purchase a Drivebelt for my '95 1.9td vsx estate with no aircon. When the chap asked me which hydraulic pump was fitted I was completely cafubbelled.... I apologise that I can't remember the two names he gave me, but I had no idea there were different types of pump on Xant's..
Can anyone give me some pointers as to how to identify which pump I have please?
I have done a search on here but couldn't really find anything.
Many thanks...

ALL TDs have the same Pully, its the Petrols that have a bigger pully..
No idea why he wants to know what pump...! Typical useless halfrauds!
For info, they are a 6 Ridge flat type pully.

No, funnily enough he's not wrong.
The 1.9TD and 2.1TD can have two different types of AIRCON compressor fitted, Sanden or Harrison, and each requires a different length belt...
It is important to have the right one.
An eyeball at the A/C compressor will reveal which one is fitted...

Hi everyone... Thank you for the replies....
I have spoken to my local Unipart and have been told the same thing.. listed under "No Aircon" are two 6 ribbed belts.... one is 1300mm long the other is 1334mm (or something along those lines) He, however didn't mention any pumps. Also he used my vehicle reg to do the search.
As I am at work and away from the car I can't get the vin number, but thank you very much for the offer Malcolm.
I am just going to have to buy both belts and see what one fits I guess.
I can return the unused one for a refund.... but still.... what a nut ache !!! lol...
*edit* sorry, that should have been 1100mm or 1132mm in length... my bad...

I am starting to completely panic now..... Helfrauds in their infinite wisdom (or mine as I was stupid enough to trust them) have gone and supplied me with the wrong fuel filter AND the wrong air filter... I'm too bloody scared to do the oil change incase the oil filter is wrong too.....
so I figured I would console myself with a nice quick easy drive belt change...... oooHHHH no!!!!
up in the air, remove trim panel etc etc.. is there no way to do it from above? y'know... a nice, easy belt change, like the good old days????
oh and thanks for the post malcolm.... I got 6234, so I will go with the longer belt first.... Cheers buddy!

Oil filter should be 204
Air filter should be 225
Got a fuel filter out in the car, if I get the chance I'll go look up the number.

I'll take a look first thing in the morning and post it's number, and the fuel filter's number too on my way into London.
