New Toy (Xantia V6)
Off on Friday to collect my new toy; an S1 Xantia V6. 42k miles, one owner from new, always serviced/maintained by the same independent Citroen specialist garage. Massive print out of all work ever done, which when digested, might give me a clue as to what might need looking at before we go off to Scotland at the end of the month. The most recent work was changing the header tank and sensor. Not the slightest odour of Chicken Korma, but I have been looking at the youtube video of the belt changes, as that has yet to be done. My French is just about up to it, but doubtless I'll need to consult our resident experts at some point, when I do it.
Will (hopefully) be able to post some piccies over the w/e.
Cheers, Kevin F.

Excellent Welcome to the very exclusive MK1 V6 owners club Kevin!
A very good choice if I may say so...
Perpaps, in the fullness of time, you might open a blog on this car. We'll all be wanting to know more details...
What colour is it?

It's silver grey.
As I said, I hope to be able to post some photos over the weekend. The previous owner has given up driving owing to age and infirmity, but has been a lifelong Citroen enthusiast (toured France in 1952 on his honeymoon in a Slough built Traction).
Will certainly regularly post, if you think it will be of interest; I particularly wanted an S1, both because of rarity, and because I prefer the appearance.
Oh, and no sunroof!
Cheers, Kevin F.

Yes, most seem to be AC only and most seem devoid of headlight washers and heated seats...
They (along with the sunroof and heated washer jets) were available as part of the "Winter Pack" as could be specified for the S1 Activa.
Mine is what I call a "Poverty Spec Exclusive" as it has no optional extras on it at all...
My early S2 V6 has the full shebang on it barring Trafficmaster...

Trafficmaster is another irritation I've discovered in daily driving of s2
Xantiae! I don't want to pay the subscription but FFS, you can guarantee
at least once a day a very loud broadcast will remind you about it's
renewal. Can she be exorcised from the innards painlessly?

Not easily Andrew That's one of the joys of an early S2!andmcit wrote:Can she be exorcised from the innards painlessly?
To do it you'd need to do some nifty electronics as it sits between the wireless and the speakers. I did one see how to do it but where and when truly escapes me now...
Forgot to say that my S2 has no sunroof either. Got everything else though...

on neither S2's i have this problem.
the only irritating thing that i have is if you turn the ignition off and then back on again quickly it reminds me that the subscription has expired.

I have google maps on my phone, it shows me by traffic flow by colour and length along the route and doesn't shout at me.
