towbar fitting prices - xsara 1 coupe

Unread post by eurotrotter »

Alright gang

i went to make enquiries about getting a new towbar fitted here in germany.

they quoted me 400euro for fitting alone, 200 for the metal and around 50e for the cable, this sounds way too much?

what would it cost in uk?

I saw a proper Xantia hatch towbar at car boot here in France last week but didn't buy it. And it was only €30, with detachable ball. I must be silly. Only excuse was that I hope to get an estate soon and it would not have fitted. Oh, and also I don't have a tralier.

But they are a doddle to fit.

I had a Witter towbar fitted to a Xantia for about £120

That would have included them supplying electrics, but I also bought a Citroen wiring loom kit for about £60 as I preferred that to those Scotchlok connectors.
