Xsara Horn & Airbag Light

My local mechanics have just fitted a new (s/h) steering rack to my 2001 Xsara 90 Hdi. Great except now the airbag light is on and the horn doesn't work. Is there an obvious solution before I go back to them to sort it?

By the way, where is the horn located? It's not obvious!

They've taken the steering wheel off or pushed up on the steering shaft and buggered your clockspring - integral with the headlight/wiper stalks on a facelift Xsara.

Unless a talented mechanic can put yours right (and given progress to date, I doubt they have one to hand), don't muck around with a used piece to replace; insist on a new unit and be sure it is the correct one per your VIN.

Sourced a s/h com2000 unit from eBay. Fitted today and all is well. £26 incl postage.

I didn't trust the garage that broke it to sort it out and I avoiuded any potential unpleasantness.
