Hi there,
Was wondering if I could get more details on the R14 in the UK? How many were built or imported and what were they like to drive and own?
Did any UK people actually ever own any of them? What models were there available?
There is so little on this little Renault?

My dad hired one to visit me and I drove it around here, found it quite fun to drive but remember nothing about it other than it was new and blue.
Years later I had one that would have been around ten years old, a 1.4 petrol with the 'suitcase' engine.
Again quite decent to drive. Did a lot of miles in it without too many problems until I got an intermittent ignition problem. Can't remember the details unfortunately but it went over the bridge not long after that probably due to an MOT failure.

Interestingly Steve:
That what saw yours off? Classic example of "they all do that Sir" then?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_14The car also had a reputation for being difficult to start in damp conditions.
