Radio/CD keeps switching to 'news' etc

Yes, sorry in advance,

Probably a reeeeeeeeealy simple fix,wrong setting etc. I'm rubbish with radios, I'm happy if I've got my local Pulse Bradford,Real, and some easy listening stations..oh, and my 6 cd changer jobby,that'll do me

Anyway, the darn radio,or cd if it's playing, keeps getting interrupted by 'NEWS' on the display screen, and traffic alerts,(I think). Highly annoying when you're in the middle of a good tune. Then I don't like to mess with it, if I'm on the move,in traffic etc,it's too distracting.

Anything to do with this RDS thing? *

* yes, I also have no idea what RDS is...what a noob I am

I'm guessing if it's anything like mine that there will be a "TP" button.
If TP is set on my radio I get traffic updates which sometimes goes to the news as well if it doesn't cut off.
If it has got a "TP" button, press it so that TP isn't displayed.

As above, but the button might be "TA"
