Xantia Door cards

Post by robert_e_smart »

Morning Folks,

Just a quick one, can series 1 Xantia door cards be fitted to a series 2 car? If so what modifications need to be made.

From what I can tell the door armrest screws are in different locations.

Thanks

Robert

As far as I know, no Robert, you can't (easily)...

Mind you, I can see why you would want to, S1 door cards are far superior to SII items....

Speaking of door cards...
Can the S1 window switches go into the S2's? Love the 'one touch' auto feature as opposed to the 'hold to activate' system

That's a spec level thing rather than S1/S2
SX/VSX/Activa have one touch driver's switch (not sure about LX).
Paul's S2 exclusive has all round one touch.

Yes, thats true, however my S1 is a quick press to enable auto, whereas the S2 is push and hold for 2 seconds to enable that feature

No, I dont think the LX Xantia has one touch on the drivers window.

Interesting, all of mine (S1 and S2) you have to hold it for a second or so before it activates the one touch. Just tapping the switch makes it jump up a little bit only.

They swapped the one touch format around laye 96....from press to activate to press and hold for two seconds to activate.... This im sure will be the programe in the drivers door black box behind the door card... Its not the switch... They are all identical right across board...

Every xantia with elec windows had one touch on the.drivers door.. Even lx.. But only s2 cars added anti pinch... Which renderes s1 drivers windows not compatible with s2 cars though the rest will be except in exclusive were all are one touch and anti pinch...

As for door cards... The switchs have their own house which is the same again acrocc board.. The only thing you have to do is drill a new tiny hole for the screw nearest the end of the door to screw in... The other two ie the middle one and upper one by the switches are in the same place... I have to say s2 cards are far supeiour making wonderfull use of the other wise wasted gap between the arm rest and lower door pocket.. A great hidey hole... And its not small either..

Ok,

So move the plastic threaded chaps from the series 1 door into the series 2 for the armrest to screw into, and drill a new hole to screw the door card on at the speaker end?? Or the other end?

No robert... Leave them.. Just drill a 4mm hole at the end so the screw will self tap and tighten into it... Thats all... Im sure the other one lines up ok...
