How ndo I cancel Auto lights on C5

Hi can anyone let me know how to cancel the automatic lights on the C5 It is not normally a problem but found that I was dazzling the man helping me park on the ferry I would also like to thank the many helpers who by their very acurate advice have helped me cure the usual C5 2.2 problems with vacuum or rather the lack of it. New swirl valve and a couple of holes in the vacuum pipe joiners!!!

If your C5 is a C5I (from 2001 - mid 2004) then you need to turn the ignition to the first setting (battery not ignition setting) then press and hold the end of the indicator stalk until the display warns you about the change to the headlights.

If the C5 is a C5II (2004-2008) then the setting is in the main menu on the computer.

However, if you find you need your headlights off for a specific reason but still like the auto feature, just turn the light stalk to sidelights and the headlights will go off and onto sidelights only.
