205 parts theft

Is anyone aware of a shortage of Peugoet 205 parts?
I know of a 205td which last week had its windscreen stolen overnight - but nothing else was taken from the car.
Yesterday I had a hand-written note put on my 205 diesel's windscreen from someone who said "they" were interested in buying windscreens, interior parts and some engine parts from "older Peugeots". A mobile phone number was given.

On my last visit to the local scrappy, there were several 205's there. Wouldn't have thought there would be a shortage.

I wouldn't have rekoned on a shortage either – even though there are still a lot of 205s knocking around.
But the windscreen theft was in Northumberland and I live in West Yorkshire, so there's no way the two incidents are connected.
Lock up yer windscreens!
