C5 VTX+

Quick question does anybody know if a 2005/08 C5 estate VTX+ has rear parking sensors as standard?

It is a no, only Exclusive spec has rear parking sensors (it has front ones too) the VTX+ is as the VTR spec but with colour sat nav and CD changer.

You can easily fit parking sensors, it even has the holes in the bumper ready, they are filled with blanks.

Thanks Chris, I thought that was the case, I know that they are not difficult to fit just one more thing to lose time on doing if I really wanted them, which on the estate I would having got them on the current car.

My dad has often thought about getting them fitted on his VTR C5 estate, as it has the holes there ready, as do all facelift C5s, however as its flat backed its really easy to reverse up to things anyway.

C5 hatches have a bit more need for them, as the back window is high and the end of the car is invisible. Still, like all cars, once your used to it it becomes second nature to park within an inch of something!

See, someone else without a need for parking sensors

Our first C5 estate had them on the back, they were handy but made parking a bit lazy. I do quite like them as they should spot something if you have missed it, but not really necessary.

The thing they are good at seeing is "twee" little 2 foot high bolards so beloved of many authorities. They are too low to see through the rear window if you are closer than about 15 ft and easily missed in the general clutter at longer distances, the first that you know of them is the graunching sound as they take the rear bumper out

My Exclusive Estate has them I reckon that they must have been fitted as an after thought by the dealer I have rarley seen such poor wiring.

put a towbar on it, makes a good parking sensor without damaging the car (own one anyway :lolhit:

)
