Right i phoned him up i did to view the car. He phones back later saying. His name wasnt on the log but but he still got the green slip. Somthing about the bloke who he bought it off messed up with the log book forms.
Before i went i got a car check saying it had 2 owners. Last one was in 2002

Couldnt find anything after 2002 in the service history. Well i dont think there was all seemed old stuff.
He said it was for his son. But hes doing hid bike test.
When i asked him about the owners he said there was 1 owner. And he didnt seem to know much about the car.
It was moted for a year. It said it done 41 .000 miles on it but the teare on the seat seemed like it done more.
But im not to sure. Ya it seemed a good little car it did. But somthing didnt add up.

It might be me jumping the gun. And going over board. But if he did get it in 2002. He must have just used it for running about up and down his farm.
Then cloked it back to say the milege down.
The log book is in a differnt name. But he still has the green slip to change it.

If he bought it in 2002 and only has the green slip from then how's he been taxing it? The green slip is only valid for so long.

Keep clear. There are plenty of motors around, why risk aggro?

walk then.

you could get a much newer ax for not a lot of money.

the mk1's are really bad for rust and the engines aren't as good as the mk2's with injection. there's plenty about :)

something doesnt seem right here. Xac made a good point about taxing it though, because even if it hasnt been taxed and driven about on private land that makes for a bad cheap runaround as the engine won't have had a good run etc.

i'd leave well alone

(i also don't like mk1 ax's very much, mk2 rule)

I agree, dont even give it another thought!

Far too many good little cars around without buying that, its also over priced.

Id be more tempted by a Saxo, a nicer car than the AX in my opinion and there are loads to choose from. Take a look at these:

Nice low mileage 1.1

Another

This one looks very tidy

Xsaras are good value cars

Peugeot 106 1.1

There are loads and loads to choose from, don't bother with that AX.

Time to walk me thinks...

Its the bloke what put me off lol. If the car would have been with somone genuin. And that he said there had been 2 owners instead of him saying only one. Then ya it might have been a deal. But the man Seemed to want rid really fast. His wife offered us coffie. Or his sister lol
Like they wispering or talking soft then the lady goes its a good little car. Things like that. I asked where was his son, His he on holiday. He said, He will be getting back soon gone out with mates. It was very dustySo it must have been going round the fam feileds with no tax,
