Front N/S Wishbone bush problems?

Post by c.morewood »

I've read a few threads on the subject of the above bush, but I haven't come across any with my Xanta's symptoms.
I had theN/S front wishbone bush replace by a local garage last week as there was a bit of fore/aft movement which I thought was excessive and when driving on a certain piece of road with a long repair line just on the track of the N/S wheel, the car would pull to that side.
Today driving to work, on a roundabout, I thought I had driven on a path of diesel as the car seemed to slip for about a second whilst the right lock was on, later the same thing happened going round a right hand bend. So on the way home I deilberately drove the car a little harder round a right hand bend to see if it was something I could reproduce. Sure enough, there was that little slip feeling as if I was almost about to enter a spin.
What I believe is happening is that there is still play on the bush allowing the tyre to "dig in" in the right hand turn. This doesn't happen when turning left. This wasn't happening before the bush was replaced.
Has anyone come across this before?
Any idea how to fix it?
Thanks in advance
Chris
