inserting pictures in post

Post by civvie »

Want to insert a picture in a post but haven't a clue how to do it, have managed to open an account with photobucket and upload a photocopy, bit I'll be buggered if I can work out how to stick it in a post, read Myglarens tips but none the wiser. Help please.

Cheers
Steve

If you have pictures uploaded into photobucket already, then under each picture are 4 different links, they usually appear when you hover over the picture with your mouse. Copy the link at the bottom link code (IMG link, click on the link and it should automatically copy) and paste it into your post, this will place the picture on your post when you have submitted it.

Let us know if your still stuck :)

Hover your cursor over the image in Photobucket and a drop-down menu appears.
Click on the link you want and it copies automatically - should be either IMG Code or IMG Thumb - the latter if it is a large image.

Paste the links into your post - no need to add Image

Ok lads managed to get this here. is this correct? didn't get anything when I hovered the cursor over the picture, saw something on the right hand side of screen saying "share this photo", so did it from there, (picture deleted as now in thread)

Edit.
posted and it opened now I see how it works, like s*x once you do it you know how!

I'll now do a new post

Did you not get the drop-down list of links as in the screenshot above?

Steve (Myglaren)
Quite honest don't know how I did it, when I logged into photobucket and could see my picture, I hovered the cursor over the picture but nothing came up. But on the right of the screen there was a box that said "share this photo" so I went from there. It said copied img but didn't say where too, that's what confused me as I went to EDIT , paste wasn't showing anything there.
It was only when I came back here and tried to post that I saw paste highlighted, pasted the img to my message then thought what now? posted as normal to see what would happen and low and behold the picture came alive. Didn't know it would open automatically, didn't know how it worked.
Yes this it is a bit of a ramble but got there in the end.

Thanks for the guidance to a old git.

Like most things it just needs a bit of practice.
