the j5 had a push clutch , however the xud9 engine i have has a pull type clutch, can i just fit a j5 clutch kit to the xud flywheel?

Yes, I think so. I think the flywheels are the same, just the clutch and all the release components on the box are different.

There might be different clutch sizes, measure first :)

Later turbo diesels usually.

306TD newer shape (late 96 on) , not DW8 usually.

All 406 1.9TD's

You do mean the 'slightly annoying' one where the bearing is part of the clutch itself yes ? , in which case my list is correct.
