By "plastic wheel trim missing" i assume they mean its missing an alloy wheel, as it is. Upside down chevrons are never a great thing!
For its mileage its a tired looking car.

Bit harsh that.Citroenmad wrote:By "plastic wheel trim missing" i assume they mean its missing an alloy wheel, as it is. Upside down chevrons are never a great thing!

Difficult to assess from those useless pictures, but yes, the bumpers have faded badly, which is/was normal.
Missing plastic wheel trim is an utter mystery.
Makes the mileage on mine look intergallactic!
Shame I've now run out of room here, or I'd have had that.

I'd have it myself if I had the spare cash and the room. The interior would give it away if it was a higher mileage and MOTs can checked online to verify (with a little assistance from the seller.)
Yes it could be tidied up on the outside but thats not difficult.
It is after all the best car ever according (Sir) James May.
Why hasn't he been knighted yet?

I don't ever recall him saying that. When was that then?birksy wrote:I'd have it myself if I had the spare cash and the room. The interior would give it away if it was a higher mileage and MOTs can checked online to verify (with a little assistance from the seller.)

Nearly have to agree. Well, in terms of driving fun it's certainly ranks the top of all the motors I've owned and driven.
Modded and lowered with a 20mm rear anti roll bar makes it the best handling car I've ever driven, and that includes a Lotus Elise that I drove on track once too.

I dont think my earlier comment was all that harsh ...
They are selling the car with that description and the very limited pictures, the pictures dont show the car in the best light, not even one interior picture and the exterior ones are pretty lacking in any detail.
The missing wheel trim is obviosuly referring to the lack of a o/s rear alloy wheel, as it looks like its got a steel on.
The chevrons are upside down on the bonnet which most likely means its needed a bonnet at some point in its life. How can people get the badge the wrong way round?
2 service stamps for a 21 year old car.
None of this fills me with confidence or makes me want to buy it, so yes, it possibly is a pretty tired thing, then again it might be a good car just with a poor advert.
It does have one good thing, the MOT, which means it must actually be a reasonably decent car. Why are there not more details and pictures though. Its a rare car now, which will hopefully see it in a good home.
It takes nothing to spruce up a car and take a good few quality photots. These adverts sell the car. My car adverts are always brimming with details and good pictures.

An excellent read that Im amased May likes the AX GT that much, impressive.
They are good cars though, fun little things the Gt version.
My first car was an AX, quite a well thought out car and drove nicely even with the poverty engine and spec.

the seller must be expecting good money for it as a question at the bottom shows someone has offered £700 for it and the seller declined, you would think that if hes expecting that money for it he could have given it a wash and tidy up and a better advert, id say hes being a tad optimistic, however good a following it has amongst cit fans its still a 21 year old economy car
It has. I occasionally drop into the AX owners forum for info, but it's full of nippers.411514 wrote:the seller must be expecting good money for it as a question at the bottom shows someone has offered £700 for it and the seller declined, you would think that if hes expecting that money for it he could have given it a wash and tidy up and a better advert, id say hes being a tad optimistic, however good a following it has amongst cit fans its still a 21 year old economy car
