fuel filler cap

hi. I lost my filler cap. rather it was 3am I had been on the road for hours filled up and left it on the roof doh! any way where can I get a spare it's a y reg xantia 1.8 petrol. halfords only do push in ones. and mine screwed on like a bottle top I suppose. help I have mot tuesday. as u can guess I am not good with cars

A breakers yard would be your best bet, im sure the cap must be similar on other Citroens.

It will be an MOT failure without a filler cap.

I would agree, I did the same thing with an XM sometime ago. Not a great demand for fuel caps at the scrappies - except from people like us :oops:

ok theres one local so I try tomorrow thanks. do u guys understand the type of cap I am on about. just don't get why u can't pick up one in halfords. is it just a citroen thing.

It will be specific to Citroen, Halfords just sell you ones to get you buy, not to replace the original.

Your lucky in that the Xantia doesn't have a locking cap, it has a locking fuel door. Though i guess its unlucky in a way, as to drive away with your cap on the roof would mean your keys would also be on the roof ...

Except you couldn't drive away if your keys were in the petrol cap :D
